Earth Day
On the 48th anniversary of Earth Day, it's more important than ever to show love to our environment. We are big believers in thinking globally while acting locally, so we're sharing what we're doing to care for the earth, and how you can be involved
This November, we partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization that supports reforestation globally. Through our partnership with One Tree Planted, we were able to plant 880 trees. From April 16th through April 23rd, we are partnering again to plant a tree with every order over $45. These orders will come with a limited-edition Alima Pure reusable tote bag.
One Tree Planted believes every individual can make a difference. You can even become a “Tree Ambassador” (best title ever) and lead your own local planting initiative. Learn more here.
As members of 1% for the Planet, we donate 1% of our gross sales each year to environmental organizations. 1% for the Planet partners with nonprofits (we've partnered with Ecotrust) to address six environmental focus areas: climate, food, land, pollution, water, and wildlife. 1% For The Planet is now doing individual annual memberships. You can dedicate 1% of your personal salary to support environmental organizations. What we love about 1% FTP is that it brings attention to efforts that we here in Portland may not have heard about without their connection. Our endeavors in Portland are supported by individuals and businesses from all over the world and we are so grateful for this global community.
We are so happy to celebrate 10 years of carbon neutrality by offsetting 100% of our corporate carbon emissions! We are also enrolled in PGE’s Green Source Renewable Power Program which derives power from 100% renewable sources including Solar, Wind, Biomass, Hydro, and Geothermal.
We are not sitting here in a candlelit office, and you don't have to live a totally carbon-free lifestyle to support the cause. You can read here about how companies (and now individuals!) can offset their personal carbon emissions; whether that be for the entire year or just for flights or gas, every offset helps.
If you are interested in getting involved and are not part of a corporation, you can donate to B Lab, the nonprofit that supports all B Corporations. These donations help turn ideas into actions and are essential for raising awareness for the work that is done by the B Corp community.
